When I asked my church about performing my wedding, I was referred to Pastor Forbes. I was told that he was a veteran at weddings, and served the ministry for many years. I arranged with him to perform our wedding ceremony, and it was a great experience and my pleasure to have him work with us through the many phases of marriage. We took the full package with Pastor Forbes, including premarital counseling, which offered a discount for our license when we applied. In times of nerves and the unknown, the Pastor’s humor and charm helped both of us keep our wits about us.
Maggie and I were to be married on May 26, 2007; however, due to personal reasons, we decided to move it up to January 12, 2007. Pastor Forbes was wonderful with his flexibility and encouragement. | |

We had the wedding at the Lightner Museum Chapel in St. Augustine, Florida, where a lovely indoor and outdoor setting was available. We chose indoors, because the weather was a bit on the cool side. Our photographer was able to shoot some very beautiful pictures outdoors afterwards. In the chapel there were about 30 people, though we had planned for family and special guests only. The wedding was very lovely. We exchanged our own personal vows after reciting the traditional ones.
After the wedding, our reception with our many friends and family was held at the Oak Leaf Plantation Center in Orange Park, Florida. The wedding party was introduced, and some gave special blessings. |

Once again, Pastor Forbes was delightful with his humor and his loving way of reminding us of God’s plans and of respect of his words. The evening was a fairy tale turned reality.

We feel very fortunate to have had Rev. Dr. Forbes to perform our wedding ceremony. The wedding was on September 2, 2006. We first contacted him August 4, 2006--only about a month before the wedding. Yet, Rev. Forbes handled everything so professionally and with such calm that we were not stressed out. Rev. Forbes offers a four-hour premarital counseling course, packaged with planning, rehearsal, and the ceremony. We took the package. He guided us through the course in such a timely manner, we were able to use the Course Completion Certificate to get a discount of $32.50 off the marriage license fee and avoid the three-day waiting period. |

We certainly appreciated that. We also feel that the course helped to prepare us for our life together.
The rehearsal had to be moved forward to the morning of the wedding day, because some of the bridal party came from out of town. Again, Rev. Forbes handled everything in his usual calm and professional way that we just knew everything was going to be alright.
The setting for our wedding was at the Atlantic Beach in Jacksonville, Florida, at the Dolphin Plaza, where we accommodated about 125 people. The ceremony was beautiful. Even though we had three special renditions, including a song accompanied by a dance, there was a noticeable calm and unhurried atmosphere. Rev. Dr. Forbes did an excellent job.
